- "Hands On!" Get Intimate with Candy & Foley in gooeycandy's Game
Want a game that's finger-lickin' good and hands-on—quite literally? I'm talking about gooeycandy's demo game, Hands On!, featuring the irresistible Candy & Foley. If you're a fan of sensual gaming, this game knows how to deliver a satisfying experience. So, let's start with the basics: The game is divided into two interactive modes—'Strip Mode' and 'Hands-On Mode,' and both are exactly what you think they are. Strip Mode Oh, the choices! What piece of clothing gets the honor of being removed next? Hm, think...think. This isn't just some simple point-and-click affair; it's actually an interactive conversation with Candy & Foley. You can pick from a variety of garments, making the stripping sequence feel unique each time you play. Now, if you thought this was simple, you should check out this Review on Moonyolk for a different pace but same level of engagement. Hands-On Mode This is not a drill; your interactions genuinely matter in this mode. A sidebar fills up as you touch and rub the characters, responding to your every action. If you don't interact enough, the bar begins to empty, which, creates tension. Like not rage-quit tension but like enough to make you like "C'mon!" You're clicking; you're exploring, feeling, and engaging with Candy & Foley and then BAM the damn bar goes empty. I only thought these genius games from Washi could have that impact on me! Gameplay The controls are so intuitive it hurts—in a good way! Everything is designed for a seamless, straightforward interaction, ensuring that even new players can grasp the mechanics effortlessly. Like it really seems simple, but is it? Now let's get down to the juicy details—the art and graphics, which, spoiler alert, are absolutely divine. The character designs are so colorful, saturated and adorable...but also yum. They're charming, attractive, and have personalities that shine through their appearance. Art & Graphics The animations are another ball game entirely. The simple but fluid, making every interaction feel lifelike. And the expressions? I mean, talk about giving life to pixels. Whether it's a sultry look from Foley or a teasing smile from Candy, the characters react to your every action, making the whole experience incredibly immersive. It's like they're right there with you, responding to your every touch. The background art also deserves special mention. Our lovely characters are enjoying a day at the beach, and the setting couldn't be more perfect. It brings a sense of escapism, making you feel like you've been transported to a summery paradise, where the only thing that matters is your connection with Candy & Foley. Hands On! is a masterclass in how to blend intuitive gameplay with sensual art. It is a game that is engaging and physically gratifying. Hands On! offers simplicity but also cuteness that many in the genre cannot provide. And for those of you who succeed in getting that sidebar filled all the way? Well, let's just say you're in for a treat—a very happy ending indeed. So go ahead, get your hands on well... Hands On! I promise, you won't regret it.
- Yaoi & Bara Audience Demographic Review
Yaoi and Bara, difference? Yes. Demographic difference? Yes, but not the full audience. We're talking about the common perception that Yaoi is solely for the ladies and vice versa for Bara. Before we move forward read some data we collected around the web on Yaoi vs Bara, along with women writing BL fiction. Most people say this: “If it’s done right and researched, make it happen”. So let’s talk. Let's address the misconception that’s been floating around since the dawn of Yaoi: that it's just for women. Sure, the genre may have historically marketed itself towards a female audience, but let’s not pretend that people abide by what’s written on the label. Gay men read Yaoi, straight men read Yaoi, it’s just based on preference. In our previous articles we saw some responses on how Bara is just too much for some gay men because they prefer more of the pretty-boy type you see in Yaoi. Also check out this awesome article from Yaoi Bookshelf discussing their thoughts on enjoying both Yaoi and Bara. The Anatomy of Yaoi Yaoi explores relationships between men, often delving into emotional complexities and sexual situations. With manga like "Junjou Romantica" and anime like "Sekaiichi Hatsukoi," the genre has given a platform to stories that are deep, steamy and at times dramatic like a soap opera. But nowhere does it say, “For Women Only.” Bara and Geikomi Alright, let’s bring Bara and Geikomi into the picture. These genres are like the muscled, tattooed cousins of Yaoi. While Yaoi is often characterized by its sometimes delicate, often pretty boys, Bara and Geikomi feature bulkier, hairier men. It's targeted mainly at gay men and usually created by them. Manga like Suyohara's "This Guy" and even visual novels like "Full Service" fall under this category. But guess what? There are plenty of women who also enjoy these genres. If a gay man finds the emotional complexities and dynamics of a Yaoi relationship relatable or simply enjoyable, why not? Manga like "Ten Count" have a devoted following and a lot of the readers are gay men. Meanwhile, some women even create more mature, even hyper-masculine aesthetics to their comics and art categorized under Bara along with the complex relationships it often portrays. The softer aesthetics and emotional resonance of Yaoi titles like "Love Stage!!" and "Given" have attracted a sizeable male following. The Yaoi, Bara/Geikomi communities are more than just faceless masses. The internet has a way of bringing like-minded souls together. Online forums, social media platforms, and even conventions are meeting places for fans from all walks of life. Yaoi is for everyone who enjoys it, just as Bara is for everyone who finds it appealing. Enjoy what you enjoy and let others do the same.
- Interview with the Creator of "DESERT OF ASH: A Post-Apocalyptic Gay Simulator"
We had a fun interview with the creator of DESERT OF ASH: a Post-Apocalyptic Gay Sex Simulator! Be sure to read it to learn more about this game and what you can expect! 1. Tell us about DESERT OF ASH: a Post-Apocalyptic Gay Sex Simulator? DESERT OF ASH: a Post-Apocalyptic Gay Sex Simulator is an adult visual novel that sees the player scavenging for vital supplies in the aftermath of a great fire that has rendered the planet an ashen wasteland. Along the way, they will meet a host of hot guys, many of whom will be interested in more than just trading for food. The player can engage with multiple men on any given path through the game, making it less of a dating simulator and more of a hook-up simulator—although a select few may catch feelings. 2. What are some tips you would give to people creating gay adult visual novel? Stay true to your tastes. People’s sexual interests are varied and specific, and including a specific fetish will alienate as many people as it will draw in. The only way to make something you’ll be happy with is to make the stuff you find hot, not what you think anyone else will. With any luck, your players will be able to tell that your work is genuine. 3. Goals for your game? It is my hope that people who play DESERT OF ASH will not just get off to it, but also find a meaningful, character-driven story about the value of connections and relationships no matter what form they may take and no matter how fleeting they may be. But please, do also get off to it! 4. What are some of your success stories as a game dev? What I am most pleased about is that two of my previous games have received some scholarly attention. Time Passed, a Twine game about coming to terms with a middle school crush, is included in a Michigan State University reference document on Twine as a game development tool; and A Vast and Lonely Desert, a Bitsy game about cowboys banished from their hometown, has been included in the curriculum for a University of New Hampshire course on digital literature. This suggests that these works are being enjoyed and discussed in a deep and substantive way, which is my greatest pleasure as a writer. 5. Where can people support your work? The most direct way is to follow me at https://davisgsee.itch.io or to add DESERT OF ASH to an http://itch.io collection via its page at https://davisgsee.itch.io/desert-of-ash. You can also find accounts for me or the game on most major social media platforms! -- Want an interview? Contact us!

- "Bruder" a Bara Visual Novel Gem
If you’re into compelling narratives about non-traditional families and visually arresting art, let me just direct your attention to this indie gem called "Bruder." This visual novel was a bit hard to get around since most of the translations were in Chinese, but there is an English translation that we’ll review in a sec. Mostly I’ll be talking about the art for “Bruder” because it’s just stunning. Let's begin with the art because, honestly, it’s what pulled me to play “Bruder” in the first place. If I could describe the art in one word, it would be resplendent. Yes, I went for the big word, because "amazing," "detailed," and "wholesome" are too simple to contain its essence. The characters are crafted with such a level of detail that you might as well be looking at a photograph. The color scheme is lush, with shades that perfectly capture the emotion. I got lost in the art for a second because it just holds you. It's no exaggeration to say that this visual novel is visually beautiful. This game primarily delves into the lives of the sons in a reorganized family comprised of two single dads. The game is soaked in themes that resonate deeply in today's society—concepts of love, family, and the daily complexities of life. I'm here for it, and so should you. The narrative was initially available only in Chinese. However, thanks to @Yellow Chocobo's translation, English-speaking audiences can now experience this story. The English version might be a bit rough around the edges, but it doesn't detract from the emotional impact of the game. Now, let's talk about that wholesomeness. Despite the complexities and emotional weight the game carries, it exudes an air of wholesome simplicity. It's like enjoying a warm cup of hot cocoa on a cold day—you feel embraced, comforted, and accepted. This game celebrates the reorganization of families, the struggles and joys of life, and most importantly, the power of love in all its forms. I'd say that "Bruder" has its flaws, sure—the English translation could be smoother, for instance. But these are minor quibbles. "Bruder" is a game you should play if you want to be swept away mainly by beautiful art. - "Finding Family" by Maririn Review
If you love gay furry stories, you already know of Maririn. From art to storytelling, Maririn knows how to capture emotion and characters. "Finding Family" by Maririn isn't just your typical furry tale; it asks the readers to question what 'family' really means. It also provides one heck of an emotional rollercoaster that could give any Bara/furry drama a run for its money. About Maririn Firstly, who's Maririn? This creator specializes in gay furry comics and NSFW content, with a focus that is mainly adult. Maririn's work exists in the realm of "ケモホモ" or "Kemohomo", which is a niche yet impassioned sub-genre within the gay furry and BL community. What sets Maririn apart is their ability to portray complex emotional and erotic dynamics that just work. About "Finding Family" You have Elias, a wolf pup (literally) who's never experienced the warmth of a family, and then come Tobias Fretchman and Tyson Clawing, ready to usher him into a world of love. The premise isn't groundbreaking but the execution is what makes it so darn good. A mix of slice of life and drama, it’s lacking in the gay and furry community. I'm dying for more slice of life stories at this point. We journey from Elias' lonely existence to a newfound sense of belonging with his adoptive fathers. And let's be real, a gay couple adopting a child in a society that's often filled with heteronormative standards? It’s just good to see. Nothing too harboring with drama, nothing like “wow, two gays adopting a kid”. Just simply there. Like yes there's drama but it's not the tiring drama I tend to see in more furry-based storytelling. Gay Themes The story is packed with themes that resonate strongly within the LGBTQ+ community, especially in the furry subculture. It's not just about Elias finding a family; it's about Tobias and Tyson’s struggles to create a family. Maririn doesn't skirt around the difficulties that come with this, either—there's prejudice, there's judgment, and there are internal struggles about what it means to be a family in a world that may not always be accepting. The story has trials and tribulations that make you want to grab a tub of ice cream and devour it as you read. The story doesn't just touch your heart—it grabs it, squeezes it. The plot twists and emotional arcs keep you on the edge, wondering what’s going to happen next. But one thing is for sure: every hardship only cements their love as a family. "Finding Family" redefines the concept of family while paying homage to gay themes in a way that's both poignant and provocative. And with that, I sigh and say—keep that queer content coming, Maririn! You're doing wonders for the soul.
- Zach from "Red Ops: The First Infection" Character Review
We're diving deep into Zach from Red Ops: The First Infection created by Vincere Studio. Sure, Zach might be an elite operative with killer skills, but he's not just a gun-toting hunk. He's got layers, okay? He's complex and has emotions, which is more than you can say for a lot of cookie-cutter action heroes. Before anything else please check out the demo of Red Ops: The First Infection and watch this awesome trailer for the visual novel. Red Ops: The First Infection Trailer Depth Beyond the Biceps Yeah, Zach's got the whole elite operative vibe going on, complete with moves that'd make James Bond jealous. But don't be fooled by the muscles and the 'I-can-kill-you-with-a-toothpick' glare. Underneath that chiseled exterior lies complex emotions and vulnerabilities. Trust me, he's anything but your run-of-the-mill action figure. If you're thirsty for more, check out these 9 Bara Games You Need to Play. Queer & Out Having Zach as an openly queer character in a world-ending scenario? It’s needed. Plus, it's from a queer-owned indie studio, which adds a layer of authenticity to his character. Love Amid Chaos Finding love in the middle of a zombie apocalypse? That's probably tough. Zach manages to balance intimacy and saving the world like it's just another day at the office. Survivalist with Style Let's not overlook Zach's insane survival skills. The man could give Bear Grylls a run for his money. Between dodging zombies and diffusing tension, this guy adapts. And did I mention he does it all while making heart eyes at his love interests? Pillow Talk, Baby! Listen, I'm not saying that the erotic scenes make Zach, but they certainly add another layer to his character, showing his sensual side. And who can resist a man capable of handling both guns and love? Personal Choices Being a protagonist in a game with multiple endings means Zach has a hell lotta choices to make. He's not just a one-route kinda guy, y'know? Emotional Rollercoaster The guy goes through so much, from existential crises to world-ending dilemmas. If that doesn't make for a compelling protagonist, I don't know what does. Plus it’s not cliché drama for Zach. Breaking Stereotypes Zach breaks BL stereotypes by just being himself, and that's something to be appreciated. Stereotypes being shattered? That's why you should also know Why Orc Covenant Needs to Be on Your Yaoi Gaming Radar. It's All in the Details From the CGs to the script, the game invests in making Zach as real as possible. He's honestly like a living, breathing character you would want to make friends with. Fan-Favorite Potential A character isn't iconic until the fandom says so. And with the kind of depth and complexity Zach has? I can already hear the keyboards clacking away at fanfics. Trust me, I’ve played a lot of BL/Yaoi/Bara games and I tend to look for stories and characters that are written to actually be original. And that’s Zach for you! Be sure to play the demo over on Itch.io and get hyped for the full game launch in 2024! Can't wait? Neither can we. So, head on over to the Kickstarter page for more deets.

Let me reiterate: Camp Buddy has been my comfort game for years. It combines just the right amount of heartfelt storytelling, saucy romance, and sex. I'm super pumped for all these anniversary events, and I genuinely can't wait to see what the community comes up with. To everyone participating, good luck! I can't wait to see your art and maybe—just maybe—review some of the entries on Boys Love Universe! And to BLits Games: Thank you for the countless hours of joy and excitement. Here's to many more years of creating fantastic memories together. Cheers! Raises a metaphorical champagne glass filled with tears of joy.
- Hotcha's "Beefy Blasters" Bara Game Review
More Bara? Let's talk about Beefy Blasters from hotcha. A few months ago my friend showed me the demo he had from a few years ago, and I was in awe with how different this game seemed to be compared to my other collection of Bara games. For a roundup of other titles you absolutely need to check out, here's a list of 9 Bara games you need to play. He also went on and on about how it made no sense how this Kickstarter didn't get fully funded but more on that later. So, where do we start? Gameplay. For anyone interested in how Bara and Yaoi differ in the world of gaming, make sure to read this Yaoi vs Bara analysis. The controls are buttery smooth, intuitive, and designed for seamless interaction. Even if you're a total newbie to the spaceshooter genre, within minutes, you'll be blasting away like a pro. The enemies in the game have varying levels of difficulty, adding a tactical element to the game, which is, ugh, so good. It's not just about hitting buttons; it's like chess but with more abs and fewer knights. Oh, speaking of special blasters, let's not ignore the power-ups. From rapid-fire blasters to guided missiles, these power-ups not only amp up your firepower but also add a whole new layer to your, um, "interaction" with the hunks. Let's just say some power-ups are more 'effective' at stripping the fabric than others. It adds a collectible aspect to the gameplay, encouraging you to explore the levels for hidden items. It’s not just about the beef, you see. It's about the journey to the beef, okay? Oh! Oh! The boss battles. The boss battles are a whole cinematic experience. The screen fills up with vibrant explosions, awesome attack patterns, and of course, the boss hunk of the level who taunts and teases you throughout the battle. And don't even get me started on the music. It switches from retro synth vibes to heart-thumping techno, depending on the intensity of the battle. And then there’s the art style. Totally a Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann fan here so it has a lot of similar vibes going for it. The art features men of all shapes, sizes, and... appetites. The visuals are lush, vibrant, and intensely colorful, keeping true to the whimsical nature of the game. Backgrounds are stylized, often reflecting the persona of the hunk you're trying to, ahem, liberate. It's this attention to detail that elevates the game from being just another sexy novelty to something far richer. Now, let's dial it back a bit. My friend told me he was so upset the project didn't get fully funded on Kickstarter so he helped support the creator's Patreon. So in this review I genuinely believed that the world had missed out on something truly iconic. But I see why. Rewards. The rewards on Kickstarter is kind of like shopping on Etsy but with huge discounts. You want to give more physical rewards, in-game rewards or something that people can only get exclusive access to via Kickstarter. Other than that I was shocked this game wasn't picked up so quickly. But you know what? It's not the end of the world. The creator is still alive and kicking on Gumroad and Patreon, and the community has grown stronger over the years. If you love this game as much as I do, throw some love their way. To sum it up, Beefy Blasters is fun, it's sexy, it's got style, and it's got substance. I promise, you'll love it. If you're as addicted to Bara games as I am, then clear your calendar for Bara Jam 2023, because you're not going to want to miss what's coming next.
- The Great Yaoi Gif Conundrum: Why 'Kiss Him, Not Me' Isn't Cutting It for True Yaoi Fans
This doesn't feel like it should be THAT serious but to me it is so I'm gonna write about it. Yaoi Gifs. You've had a long, stressful day, and you just want to unwind with some quality Yaoi content. You open up your favorite gif website, punch in "Yaoi gifs," and eagerly scroll through the results, only to find—what's this? Gifs from "Kiss Him, Not Me"? Also Boys Love Universe will be populating Tenor with more Yaoi, Bara and BL Gifs so be sure to find our BLU logo or mascot Otto over there! What is the anime "Kiss Him, Not Me"? Kae Serinuma is that girl you know who's totally addicted to Yaoi. She's a fujoshi—her brain's like a non-stop reel of hot guys getting it on, whether they're anime characters or real dudes. So, when one of her fave anime hotties kicks the bucket, girlfriend is absolutely wrecked. Like, full-on hermit mode, locks herself in her room and binge-watches the void for an entire week. But here's where things get wild: she emerges from her self-imposed exile looking like a total bombshell. You know, the whole "ugly duckling to swan" shtick but make it Yaoi-fanatic. This show is really strange with the opposite of body positivity, but most anime is. It also oddly takes away the true meaning of fujoshi and seems to make it more of a curse in a strange undertone. Suddenly, she's got this harem of four dudes at school—Yūsuke, Nozomu, Hayato, and Asuma—who are tripping over themselves for her. Oh, and let's not forget Shima Nishina, another fujoshi, who also gets in on the action. Here's the kicker: All these peeps are madly into her even after they find out she'd rather see them locking lips with each other than with her. And they're still like, "Pick me, choose me, love me," while Kae's internally screaming, "Would you all just make out with each other already?!" It's a fun show at times, odd, but it's not a Yaoi. So...why is it tagged Yaoi on Gif companies? What's the Big Deal? So, why does this matter? Let's break it down. 1. Yaoi is its own genre. It's not just a subgenre of romance or comedy; it's a genre that speaks for itself. Yaoi fans deserve content that reflects that. While an anime about a fujoshi is fun it's more of a Shojo than gay men getting together. And it still gets the popularity vote on Gif companies. 2. Shows like "Kiss Him, Not Me" offer a watered-down experience that doesn't fully capture the essence of Yaoi. Don't get me wrong; it's not that it's a bad show—it's just not really a Yaoi show. And it still gets pushed up above Yaoi Gifs. Want a hot and heavy gif from a classic Yaoi manga or anime? Good luck with that, because most of the big platforms would rather censor the life out of it. It's weird because people always talk big on uncensorship, but yet anything Yaoi or even gay always gets censored. Why? Because, according to them, Yaoi is "not appropriate" or "risqué" content. But hang on a second, if explicit heteronormative content gets a free pass, then what's the damn deal with pushing Yaoi into the "too hot to handle" box? Or is it something else which is just..."Hm, big talk like you care, but underhanded kinda know what you're hinting at." Hm. Let's not skate around the issue: "Kiss Him, Not Me" is a fun anime. But it's basically fangirl-bait. It teases Yaoi elements, and is made for a separate audience. Does it do the job for people who are into that kind of storyline? Sure. Yaoi fans deserve better. We're not asking for the moon here; we just want accurate, authentic representation in our Gifs and content. It's a big deal for someone like me who sometimes uses Gifs to explain an emotion or even adding a few to posts like this. Or even made Gif-sets on Tumblr (which has a larger selection of Yaoi gifs than say Tenor or even Google). Gif companies, stop censoring the genre we love. We're grown-ups; we can handle the heat. Like Yaoi is 18+ for a reason. It doesn't need to be censored, or it is there should be two options. Censored and non-censored. If you're gonna throw Yaoi into the search bar, then give us some authentic Yaoi gifs. (Note: This post can be taken seriously for what I'm trying to say about Gif Companies, but also feel free to laugh at me. I know I'm dedicated to the art of Yaoi and I go overboard sometimes. It's just what I do!)

His Favorite This one's the classic Ugly Duckling story but make it gay and make it fabulous. Yoshida's your Average Joe, while Sato is the school hunk. Sounds cliché? Nah, the plot twists will have you hunched over your device like it's the last episode of 'Given'. Don't just sit there; go read! BL's got a universe of wonder waiting just for you. Dive back into that delicious angst and romance you're clearly addicted to! And get excited for the "Given" film "Given The Movie: Hiiragi Mix"!
