We had the pleasure of chatting with the mind behind "Just 69cm Between Us" Learn more about this Kickstarter and a little bit about the project! 1. Tell us about Just 69cm Between Us Just 69cm Between Us is the third story to come out after my 18+ yaoi Visual Novel game, Wrong Number. It is a 30,000+ word novella that follows Xander and Luka’s already established relationship as friends-with-benefits, and showcases the differences (and similarities) in their feelings towards each other. Whereas Wrong Number was solely from Luka’s POV, Just 69cm Between Us is primarily from Xander’s POV with a few shifts to Luka’s perspective. A lot of players of the game told me how much they loved Xander, so I wanted to give him more of a spotlight in this story. It was fun writing things from his POV, since he is very different to Luka. 2. What can fans of BL expect in your project? If you’ve played any of my games or read any of my stories, you’ll know I love to put silly little puns, innuendos, and make fun of cliches and tropes in my writing. For example, can you guess how many beds are in their hotel room? I try to keep things mostly lighthearted and funny, but the second half of the book will introduce a new character that makes Xander question what he really wants from Luka. There will be some heart-to-heart moments. And there's kebabs! 3. What inspired this project? I’ll be honest and admit I was just vibing when I started writing Just 69cm Between Us. Haha. I had just finished writing the previous short story ‘On the 69th day of Xmas’ and knew I wanted to continue Luka and Xander’s story. I was listening to Ariana Grande’s We Can’t Be Friends, and a few other songs, and began daydreaming scenes for the next book. So, while listening to a bunch of songs from a couple of Aussie bands like Stand Atlantic and The Buoys (these two actually inspired the name of the fictional band in the book) I would daydream more scenes for Luka and Xander and note them down. In the end, the book is inspired by a whole mish-mash of songs I daydreamed to last year. Haha. 4. Goals for your projects Right now I just want the Kickstarter to end with a success. LEARN MORE HERE I'm excited for our artist, Yuusagichi, to draw Xander and Luka in all these different scenes and poses. I love her art style and I'm so glad to be working with her! Further down the line, I've already started working on the next book, Less Than 69cm Between Us, which I hope to finish by the end of the year. This next story takes place two years after Just 69cm Between Us, and it's going to be one of my longest stories yet! 5. Where can folks support your work?
