When Eiden arrives in Garu's room, he finds the wolf yokai staring at drawing paper lost in thought. After asking, Eiden learns that Garu hit a bottleneck while making a picture book. Garu wants to draw a story he once heard from a traveler back when he lived in the Dead Zone, but because he has never been to the place where the events occurred, he's not sure how to get started. The two speculate that the story may have taken place near the Fire Territory. Just then, Eiden is struck by an idea as he remembers Garu is always longing for adventure—why don't they hit the road themselves this time?
