BL Game Interview: "A Taste of God's Goodness" Brings Gay Monk Chaos!

We had the pleasure of chatting with the folks behind the BL visual novel "A Taste of God's Goodness". Learn more about the game, what to expect and how you can support their amazing work!

1. Tell us about A Taste of God's Goodness?

A Taste of God's Goodness is a short demo for a Gay Catholic Monk Visual novel. This might sound very serious and very sad, but it's just the opposite - it's a lighthearted, silly and sometimes very stupid game.

2. What can BL fans expect from this game?

So far, fans can expect to play one heartwarming and fairly horny route. In the future, we'd really like to create more routes that vary in tone a little, but for now we've just got the gilf-lovers covered!

3. What inspired the art and story?

Since we're a team of 10, our inspirations are all over the place. Some of us are partial to old anime VNs, others are more at home in the Disco Elysium style of narration. I think we're also inspired by each other's art in many aspects.

4. Goals for your game?

Once all 7 or so routes including the secret ones are in, we'd really, really, really really like to add a "bald" mode, where everyone gets a medieval monk style tonsure cut. Please support us so that we can make this real.

5. Advice you would give to new indie game devs in the BL space?

Honestly, I would advise to create for yourself first! If you start trying to make things tolerable for every type of person you could imagine, your art is suddenly as generic as a Mr. Beast video. Chances are, that's not what you really want to make. If you're like me, you're just afraid of being too personal with your art. Don't be afraid! There are some stories only you can tell!
