A Veteran Yaoi Gamer's Deep Dive into Y Press Games' Visual Novel Library

Hey there, folks! It's Nash, your friendly neighborhood Yaoi gaming connoisseur! Since the early 2000s, I've been collecting Yaoi games, wading through the worlds of countless visual novels. Not embarrassed to even say I've played almost all of them and most have helped me accept my sexuality over the years. And while there are many well known Yaoi visual novels like Camp Buddy, no studio has captured my heart quite like Y Press Games.

With Y Press Games announcing Orc Covenant, I wanted to review a few of the other games to give you an insight into this studio! Y Press Games dedicates itself to making accurate gay games for gay men and BL fans, and is one of the only studios I know that has a Council of Wise Gays. So, I figured it's the perfect time to take a nostalgic stroll down memory lane, exploring some of their older titles. Are you ready?

Y Press Games Review

To Trust an Incubus

"To Trust an Incubus" - 4.5/5

This one left me breathless, guys! The intoxicating mix of fantasy and romance, all brought to life with Jouvru's striking art, was the perfect antidote to reality. From the moment Allen receives the strange letter, I found myself sucked into this magical mansion, alongside him. The unfolding of Allen's hidden past, the discovery of his magical capabilities, and the tantalizing 'bonding' scenes, all while grooving to a gorgeous soundtrack, kept me clicking away long into the night.

Hardcore Cruising

"Hardcore Cruising" - 4.7/5

Now, who wouldn't want to board the HMS Size Queen? Hardcore Cruising dared to bring to life a sci-fi gay sex ship, blending cruise line duties with unabashedly enthusiastic sex work. The journey of Milo Barre, the protagonist, to prove his worth and possibly find love on board, felt so real and immersive. The game's disco soundtrack was the cherry on top. Hardcore Cruising was a delicious cocktail of love.

Mister Versatile

"Mister Versatile" - 4.6/5

Suave, aloof Mister Versatile won my heart with his anti-super team sentiments. This game was a delightful spin on the superhero trope, offering a peek into the world of a lone wolf superhero navigating the challenges of friendship and vulnerability. What hooked me were the multiple story routes and the smexy animated sequences.

Morningdew Farms A Gay Farming Game

"Morningdew Farms: A Gay Farming Game" - 4.3/5

Farming has never been so captivating and... intimate! In Morningdew Farms, I found myself planting, harvesting, raising chickens, and yes, romancing the charming locals. The journey of Cody from inheriting his grandfather's farm to finding his true love among the hot bachelors of Morningdew Village had me hooked. I can't forget the heart-thumping moments when I had to choose a partner from seven bachelors.

Sentimental Trickster

"Sentimental Trickster" - 4.8/5

For those of us who prefer a darker, more challenging Yaoi narrative, Sentimental Trickster doesn't disappoint. This game deals with heavy real-world issues, so consider this a heads-up! Following the journey of Haru Amari, a man escaping his past, the choices I had to make kept me on my toes. And isn't that what life is about? The ethical dilemmas, the characters with their scars, they all contribute to a complex and intriguing storyline. Sentimental Trickster showed me the harder side of yaoi and left me pondering life, love, and the choices we make.

My Magical Demon Lover

"My Magical Demon Lover" - 4.4/5

Wizards, demons, and an unexpected journey of self-discovery. My Magical Demon Lover was a wild ride, blending comedy, fantasy, and spicy content. As Tristan, a wizard apprentice, I had to make a choice: which of the three hot demons would be my mentor... and possibly more? Despite the playful tone, this game was about coming of age, understanding one's desires, and making the right choices. The voice acting feature was a great touch, making this magical Yaoi adventure even more immersive!

Y Press Games has created so many Yaoi games that not only accurately tell stories gay men want to hear (and play) but also appreciates their audience. They have also backed so many Yaoi Visual Novel Projects and has become one of the most respected studios out there dedicated to Yaoi content. And with Orc Covenant coming up, I'm sure we're in for a treat! So stick around, fellow Yaoi and visual novel enthusiasts. We'll be here supporting Y Press Games with everything they do.
